Allantoin

Natural allantoin has been used for centuries to heal dry, irritated skin.  The allantoin we use is a USP drug grade synthetic version free of pyrrolizidine alkaloids or PAs.  It has all the healing benefits without the worries.

USP Allantoin is a powerful player in relieving dryness and irritation in the skin and we use it in all of our healing balms.  It provides soothing hydration and skin healing benefits second to none.

Aloe Leaf Juice

Aloe is a time-tested natural skin soother. You may have even grown up with it growing on your windowsill to heal mild burns. Today, we’ve harnessed all the goodness within the aloe leaf – minerals, amino acids, vitamins and active enzymes – to help heal your skin every day.

Aloe is great for eczema-prone skin as it helps reduce the inflammation caused by flare-ups while soothing irritated skin. We love using time-tested ingredient in our formulas.

Zinc Oxide

This miracle mineral is not just for sunscreens. The protective barrier that zinc oxide provides stays with you throughout the day. While locking moisture in, it also works to keep unwanted irritants out, keeping your skin soothed even longer. It also has super soothing anti-inflammatory benefits that calm the redness from diaper rash to eczema.

Our baby and kid products need to stay put to really work – and let your busy kid, be a kid. The Zinc Oxide is one of the key ingredients to help with our healing balms’ staying power.

Beeswax

Beeswax is nature’s moisture seal and works to lock in Skinfix’s natural formula. This non-pore clogging ingredient attracts water to help your skin stay moisturized for the long haul while soothing the itch that accompanies dry skin.

Beeswax places a protective barrier over your skin, helping to block the harmful irritants you come in contact with daily. Beeswax also works to make sure our products stay with you all day long.

Chamomile Extract

Nothing calms your body like a cup of chamomile tea, and the same can be said for chamomile extract and your skin! Chamomile is perfect for sensitive, allergy-prone skin as it works to soothe and reduce redness. Packed with antioxidants, chamomile gives your skin the boost of nutrients it needs to heal while it reduces the appearance of past eczema scars.

Chamomile is a proven skin-soother with a recent university study finding it to be an effective ingredient to aid in the treatment of eczema. So go ahead, give you skin a soothing dollop of chamomile!

Calendula Extract

The healing powers of the marigold flower have been used since the earliest civilizations. This little flower has been known to reduce inflammation and promote healing, even being used in battle during World War I to stop bleeding and act as an antiseptic on soldier’s wounds.

What makes the marigold extract so beneficial is the high level of flavonoids – a big word for the antioxidants that are found within the plant. These antioxidants work to increase oxygen and blood flow to damaged skin allowing new tissue to grow. All of the powerful properties in this flower help heal your skin!

Tocopherol

Tocopherol is a big name for what many of us know as Vitamin E. Tocopherol is a natural antioxidant that is essential for maintaining healthy skin, and it protects your skin so well that is known to help reduce the appearance of old and new scars.

This miracle vitamin makes it a perfect addition to help heal eczema flare-ups and your driest skin. Tocopherol’s antioxidant properties work to help improve dry and cracked skin, naturally.

White Petrolatum

Petrolatum or “petroleum jelly” has been around for quite some time and has been a household staple and super skin fixer for many people. Petrolatum is so effective at protecting skin that it has been a part of the original Skinfix formula for over a century. The original creator of Skinfix, Thomas Dixon a pharmacist in England, used petrolatum as his ointment base because he found that it was the most effective ingredient available to begin healing the skin barrier and a vehicle to carry natural botanicals, vitamins and minerals to the skin.

Today, we use USP grade (the highest quality, purest, prescription grade) petrolatum in our balms to create a breathable barrier to skin and protect it from water loss and create the perfect environment to allow the skin to heal itself. Our petrolatum is so pure and free from PAHs (Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons) that the trade name is Snow White Petrolatum.

Skinfix is dedicated to providing products that are safe and truly work. We will always strive to find the most natural ingredients for our formulas, but are also 100% dedicated to providing the best quality efficacy for people with severe skin irritations.

Coconut Oil

We love using time-tested natural products to help soothe skin at Skinfix. Coconut oil has been known as a cure-all for centuries to treat everything from rashes to upset stomachs. In fact, Pacific Islanders respect and value the coconut palm so highly that it is reverently referred to as “The Tree of Life” throughout their culture.

Today, we use the oil rich in vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids to safely and naturally soothe severely dry skin and heal eczema. Coconut oil requires zero preservatives to prolong its long shelf-life and is recognized for its ability to fight harmful free-radicals in our atmosphere.

Phenoxyethanol

Phenoxyethanol is an ingredient that works to prevent bacteria and mold from forming in our products. We use a very low and proven safe concentration of less than 1% in some of our formulas.

Its germ fighting abilities are the gold standard and have replaced the use of harmful parabens in the cosmetic industry. While phenoxyenthanol isn’t natural, it is simply the best preservative available on the market today, and is included in Handbook of Green Chemicals and is also Whole Foods Premium Body Care approved.

Apricot Kernel Oil

Apricots are delicious but the real power of this fruit is hidden within the pit. Apricot kernel oil is filled with antioxidants and vitamins like A, C and E. These powerful nutrients work to help tame the red, itchy patches that accompany eczema.

Who knew the secret to soothing dry skin could be found in the middle of the desert? Hidden within a shrub found in southwest region of the United States, jojoba oil is packed with nutrients like vitamin-E, B-complex, copper and zinc.

Jojoba Oil is a powerful moisturizer but light enough to avoid clogging pores on sensitive skin. Paired with our other active naturals, jojoba oil can help relieve your worst dry skin symptoms!

Sunflower oil is filled with Vitamin E, a powerful nutrient that traps moisture inside skin cells to create a hydrating effect. It also helps with scarring, roughness and redness- helping to create a more even skin tone.
